Katie M. Becker


Katie’s mission at Christenson Advisors is to build and manage a recruiting practice that approaches each search from the client’s big-picture perspective — carefully considering its organizational structure, compensation needs and business goals in seeking out high-impact executives.

Katie co-manages CA’s executive search practice. As Managing Principal, Katie is responsible for developing and managing client relationships, business development and senior to executive/board-level search. Katie has more than 20 years of hands-on national recruiting experience, with the past 18 years focused solely in the commercial real estate industry. She approaches every search and project with a sense of urgency and focus on the client’s strategic goals and plans.

Additionally, Katie leads a customized service delivery focused on exclusive and confidential representation of top commercial brokers and teams.  This specialized representation, offered exclusively by invitation only, includes team valuation, development of team resume and marketing materials, strategy and identification of the platform that maximizes the specific team’s potential for future earnings, and representation and subsequent negotiation through the entire process.

Katie has held executive-level staffing positions within the commercial real estate industry and has a firsthand understanding of the impact that high-quality hires have within an organization. She has designed, implemented and managed two successful corporate recruiting programs. The larger of the two was comprised of 35 recruiters and responsible for over 3,700 hires annually.  Additionally, Katie is experienced in the exclusive representation of commission brokers and teams.

Prior to joining CA, Katie was founder and managing principal of Stetler & Waldorf L.L.C., an executive search firm specializing in the commercial real estate industry. Her focus on recruiting senior-level executives and brokerage talent in over 27 different markets gives Katie a unique edge in helping companies to attract top-tier talent.

Previously, Katie ran the staffing function at CB Richard Ellis, a global leader in real estate services. There, as vice president of staffing, she oversaw the company’s centralized recruiting efforts, managed a national staffing team and successfully developed and implemented resources to more effectively recruit and select top candidates. She focused on significantly improving the efficiency of the overall recruitment process and proactively recruiting to attract the top professionals in the commercial real estate industry.

Katie has been a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) since 2001 and is active with several real estate associations. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Loyola University Chicago.
